Cold wet rainy days.
Today is such a yucky gloomy wintry day...but I love it! Its perfect weather to curl up under the covers and read an awesome book. I am currently reading two books. One of them is called Authentic Beauty its by Leslie Ludy the other book is a series its called the Courtship of the Vicars Daughter Lawana Blackwell wrote it. The first one is a nonfiction book, it is about the importance of inner beauty rather than outer. It is something that this generation has lost almost completely. Now some might read this and take offense but it is sadly very true. It is so hard to grow up in a generation where inner beauty is lost and outer beauty has taken over. Character is important God tells us that the inner beauty is what is important. 1 Samuel16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, "do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature because I have rejected him, for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." We are all flawed and tend to look at how handsome a man is or at how pretty a lady looks. But it is important to also look past the outward appearance into the heart. It is important for us to not worry so much how we look on the outside and concentrate on what is on the inside. So I encourage all my fellow readers this week to stop and take a minute to look at whats inside of them. May God bless and keep you this week.

New Year Resolutions
This may be a subject that a lot of us do not want to think about or even approach. But I for one think that new years resolutions are a good way to map out what we intended to get out of this next year. I think its especially important to take a look inside of you at your Spiritual relationship with God, to see where you are how far you have come and how you intend to grow in this next year. My pastor preaches on 1 Samuel 7:12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebeneezer, saying thus far the Lord has helped us. We stop and take time to look back on the things that have happened with our church ans our members over the last year. We look at everything, the losses the blessings, everything. I think that it is a good way to see just how much God has done for us. I think that sometimes we get so caught up in the midst of the bad things that happen that we overlook the good things that He has done. I know I am very guilty of this, I look at the bad things instead of focusing on the positive side, the blessing side of things if you will. This next year I have made several new years resolutions but the most important one I have made is to love God more and serve Him more and the desires of my flesh less. To spend more time with Him and dwelling on Heavenly things and not to get so bogged down in this world. To have less of its stench on me and more of a Heavenly aroma about me if you will. So friend's I encourage to take time to look at this past year and see what God has done and look forward to what He will do this next year. If you don't have a deep and personal relationship with Him then I encourage you to get down on your knees and ask Him to show Himself to you, to say " Here I am Lord show me how to become your child and forgive me Lord for my many sins." He is always listening. May God bless you this next year and may you raise an Ebeneezer and say "Thus far the Lord has helped us."

Numbness
Its not just something you feel when a doctor or a nurse draws up Lidocane in a syringe and puts in you to numb an area of the body. It can also be felt in the soul and the mind if you aren't careful. You feel nothing you go about doing the same monotonous things every day. you tend to exist and not feel. Whether it be from past pain such as events that have left scares and deadened the area that was affected so you don't feel it anymore. You just tent to exist going through your every day tasks and getting to the end of the day and not remembering what you did of if you felt anything. What is even more dangerous than just being numb during every day events is being spiritually numb. God wants us to exist for Him and wants to exist in us. We should always be alert to the temptations and sins of this world if we aren't and we don't resist them they become part of us. It can happen gradually over time, I used to think that you would feel it instantly that pricking sensation, but sometimes we don't we tip a little and taste its bitter sweetness and before you know it you've drank half the cup. Then we feel, we feel guilt remorse and shame. Some may cry silently while others may weep and wail. We should feel all these things our hearts should be broken because we have broken our Saviours heart. He spilt His blood for us he felt pain so that we could be in His kingdom. Its a price we will never have to pay and its a pain we will never feel. Look, look deep inside and see if the things that are there are pleasing to Him. Don't let the slow suttle sins engulf you to the point that you have become numb.
Now to some people this post may seem dramatic to people but I hope that it benefits and feels real to someone who reads it.

I am such a horrible blogger I know...I cant believe it has been this long since I last posted. I'm trying to figure out how to tell my readers what has happened since I last wrote. I now have been working at a Dr's office for almost a year now. I have been through some tough times there I will admit but it has been one of the best years Ive had. There are only three of us that are full time and we have one part timer that comes in and does some work for us. I know that God has me there for purpose and I know that even thought times are a bit rocky at work He is still there. In other news I have moved into an apartment in town and I have the most wonderful roommate ever, :) She also works with me now. It was a big step for me but it is teaching me a lot of valuable lessons. I met my roommate via other friends and we have gotten to know each other over the past several years and she was looking for a roommate and I was praying over moving out and the Lords timing was perfect. We have been living here for a month now and I'm still loving it! I am also going to have another adorable niece as of December 20,2010!!! My other niece will be two next Sunday. It is amazing how fast they grow up! I am loving being an aunt, it is awesome!!! I am still single but am learing every day to pick up this cross and bear it patiently. I am currently praying over what I should do with my free time on the weekends. So if any of my readers have any suggestions please let me know. I cant say that I haven't had tough times and have made some pretty bad mistakes but I know that with Gods help I will learn to be content with the road He is leading me on. I am considering starting a Bible study next semester hopefully by then everyones schedules will work out a little better. Right now the girls that I am closet with and I end up spending time together walking during the week and having girls nights every now and then. I am so thankful for the close friend's that God has given me and look forward to making new friends. I hope everyone had a blessed week and is having a restful weekend.
God bless!

Merry Christmas!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!!! Let us not forget the most precious gift that was given to us as we celebrate the birth of Christ with our friends and family. I know it has been a while since I have posted and for that I apologize. Working at the First United Methodist preschool has kept me very busy. I am planning on applying for LVN school next fall at Panola college. They have a program in center which would mean less driving time. I am planning in the mean time, to get the rest of my basic courses out of the way. (Lord willing.) There really isn't a lot going on in my life at the moment. Just making decisions and plans. I am loving working at the preschool! I love interacting with the kids! God has blessed me with this job. I hope everyone has a good week!

It has been a while.
I hope my readers haven't completely lost faith in me. :) I would love to have someone comment. It would make my day! so what has happened to Christa in the last month? You might ask. Well not a lot. I am working a very inconsistent job and am still praying very hard for a more consistent job with more consistent hours. I am planning on taking a computer night class next semester. That way I can add that to my resume while keeping up with my studying skills. :) After a while you become rusty. My ideal job would be to work in a clinic or docs office that works with children. But I will take anything write now!! I am also still working twice a month at a day care and am loving it!!! I am still debating whether or not I should apply at one of the day cares in town. I would rather get a job in the medical field. So as you can see I have many decisions to make. :( I hope that everyone has a great weekend!
